Cathy Layton

Cathy has been a licensed real estate professional in Florida since 1978. Cathy is a graduate of Riverview High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado in 1982. Her background includes assisted living development and ownership, commercial construction, commercial real estate sales, and development of offices, residential, and institutional properties. Layton and her husband, Pete Russell, currently own three assisted living facilities in Manatee County including The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch. Cathy has served on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Gulf Coast Heritage Association, and the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. She has been involved in Leadership Sarasota County, Youth Leadership Sarasota County (Co-Founder), Professional Selection Committee for the School Board of Sarasota County, 12th Circuit Bar Grievance Committee, Sarasota County Planning Commissioner, and the Housing Authority City of Sarasota. Presently she chairs the Sarasota County Charter Review Board, is vice-chair of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Board of Governors, and is a founding director of The Bank of Commerce.

Ron has been in the home building and development industry for more than 20 years. In addition to holding key positions in various companies, Ron has also owned businesses. He created Masseo Home Inspections as a distinct service company that offers expert home inspections with an eye for details that only someone with first-hand construction experience understands. Ron is a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) and holds his General Contractor license. Beyond Ron’s technical skills, Southwest Florida knowledge, and management experience, he brings a deep commitment to the community. Ron is chairman of the Lakewood Ranch YMCA. He has also been a board member for the Manatee Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Manatee, served as a Greenbrook Village board member, and member of the Collier Building Industry Association. |

Bob has more than thirty years of experience in portfolio management with various organizations including Provident Mutual Management, Co., Inc. and Provident National Bank. Bob attended Pennsylvania State University, graduating in 1972 with a B.S. degree in Finance and in 1973 earned an MBA in Finance. In 1978, Bob received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Originally from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area, Bob and his wife, Karol, now live in Lakewood Ranch. They have two grown daughters. Bob is presently an active member in both the CFA Institute and the Financial Analyst Society of Tampa. He also served as President of his community’s Home Owners Association in Pennsylvania.

Diane moved to Lakewood Ranch in November, 2004, from Holden Beach, NC. She has been active with the LWR Community Fund serving on the LWR Grants Committee for two years and is currently on the Outreach and Marketing Committee. She and her husband Greg have committed to a Donor Advised Fund. On April 14, 2009, they gave a speech at the Social Gathering of Friends to encourage other neighbors to participate in a fund and/or become active in the important work of serving the needs of LWR and Manatee County. Diane and Greg have been regular participants in the galas and various fund raisers held throughout the years! In North Carolina Diane was co-chair of the Sunshine Board of Directors. The program provided housing, counseling, and privacy for families who were victims of domestic violence. With the support of her company's employees, Diane also headed a non-profit task force to help establish a Head Start Program for the children of migrant workers in Brunswick County, NC. Diane was co-owner of Lockwood Leadership International which delivered training, executive coaching, and feedback instruments to Fortune 500 companies. Diane holds a Masters in Community Counseling from St. Bonaventure University and is certified by the International Coaches Federation as a Master Level Life Coach. She is co-author of the book “Modern Stress, the Needless Killer” and has been an adjunct professor at a variety of universities.

Currently, he is a part-time consultant for Watson Wyatt Worldwide. Keith was President of the Greenbrook Homeowners Association for two years and Chairman of the Greenbrook Safety Committee. He is Vice-President of the Civic Action Forum and currently working on the Lakewood Ranch Incorporation Study project. Bob is a 22 year veteran NBA Referee, an NBA Play-off Official for 21 years, and an NBA Finals official for ten years. He served as a New Jersey State Police Trooper from 1973-1987. He infiltrated the Mob in a 3 year undercover investigation during the 1970's and testified before the United States Senate Hearings on Organized Crime in 1981 . His community involvement includes Easter Seals Southwest Florida Board of Directors 2000-2004, National Basketball Referee Association Executive Board 1995-2002& 2008 to present, 13th Avenue Community Center Board of Directors 2005-present, Lakewood Ranch Community Fund Board of Directors 2003-present, National Co Chair Blow the Whistle on Cancer Campaign for the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research, Director & Sponsor of The Delaney Leadership Academy Manatee County School District, and numerous local charity events committees. Nick began his career on Wall Street in the early nineties working as a Municipal Bond market maker. His primary responsibilities were helping clients market and trade their positions in a trillion dollar market. Prior to forming Horizon Wealth Advisors, Nick served as Portfolio Manager and Team Leader for M&I Wealth Management and Comerica Bank. Nick is a graduate of Bentley College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Active in the community, he serves on the board of directors for the Sarasota Manatee Association for Riding Therapy (SMART) and is a founding member of Lakewood Ranch Elks Club #2855. Wilson Jones

Wilson retired from BoardSource where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He provided executive leadership and oversaw various BoardSource functions including development and marketing of new product lines and Web-based services; implementation of programs to support BoardSource's partnerships and collaborative efforts; and enhancement of BoardSource's integrated programmatic, financial, administrative, and technology management systems. Previously, Mr. Jones served in senior management posts at the IBM Corporation and the Aspen Institute where he served as Director of Corporate Relations, and is a former Senior Fellow. He has extensive general management experience, as well as marketing, organization planning, and executive education development experience in both domestic and international environments. Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Howard University in Washington, D.C. and a Master's degree in Business Policy from the Columbia University Business School in New York City. Miranda serves on the board of directors of the Sarasota/Manatee Home Builders Association and is the Sales and Marketing Council Chairperson. When Miranda is not working, she is either volunteering or spending time at one of her daughter’s favorite hobbies of Youth Symphony or helping her husband with the marketing of his Martial Arts School.

Bob is a retired C.O.O. and co-owner of several umbrella companies specializing in “Logistics, Warehouse & Distribution, Manufacturing, and Commercial Real Estate” throughout the United States for the car and heavy-duty truck industry. Ron, and his wife Glenda, moved to Southern Florida in 1999 after selling his share of the companies to his partner. In 2003, he and his wife relocated to Lakewood Ranch where their son, Shawn, and his family also reside. Ron is active in community outreach programs, i.e. Young Life, and he loves to play golf. His love of golf and his interest in the community were instrumental in his affiliation with the Community Fund. He has served on the Community Fund Golf Committee for several years. |

He attended Harvard University, Cambridge, MA (B.A., German; M.A.T., Spanish) and Teachers College, Columbia University, New York (Ed. M. and Doctorate, Educational Administration – School Systems). Dick’s career has included; Teacher, East Orange, NJ School System; Administrative Staff, Teachers College, Columbia University, NY; Legislative Agent/County Representative, New Jersey School Boards Association (Trenton, NJ); Consultant, Wharton & McKenzie-Wharton Consultants (West Hartford, CT and Lakewood Ranch, FL) and Bureau Chief and Educational Consultant, Connecticut State Department of Education. Jim Wilson

Jim served as CEO of Central Montgomery Medical Center (a part of Universal Health Services) from 2007-2009 and made considerable progress in improving operations at the facility. During his tenure, Jim improved patient safety, physician satisfaction, and employee satisfaction while serving the local area in numerous charitable and community organizations. Prior to joining UHS, he served as Chief Financial Officer/Interim Chief Executive Officer, Pottstown Medical Center, Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and Chestnut Hill Health System, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also served in multiple locations in Florida with Columbia/HCA from 1994-1999. Wilson began his career almost twenty-five years ago as an Emergency Medical Technician in Lake Zurich, Illinois. He later served as an Auditor for the Office of Inspector General, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Mutual of Omaha. A graduate of Creighton University with a B.S.B.A. in Accounting, he received a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Financial Management Association. |
